I've been doing acupuncture and massage since I found out I was pregnant. It was recommended by a friend. I have had terrible hip pain, and being pregnant has made it worse.
It's really not that bad. You can't feel the needles going in. I went 2x a month up until a month ago. I'm now pain free.
My stepdad is a chiropractor who also incorporates acupuncture. He's had great success with patients suffering migraines and chronic headaches using acupuncture and chiropractic together. GL!
I've had acupuncture for back pain and migraines, it works! ?The 'needles' are not really needle size, they are hair thin and don't really hurt going in - it's the mental build-up that is worse. ?After the first two, you can really relax, because at that point you realize that it doesn't really hurt. ?It's not like you watch it either, well, at least I didn't. ?You can lay there with your eyes closed taking deep breaths. ?Once they're all in, you just lay there, it can feel strange, but not painful. ?The effects for me weren't immediate, but one of those things where two weeks go by, and your like, 'wow, I haven't had one headache,' or 'wow, my back feels better.' ?HTH!
Re: acupuncture - anyone (for anything not just pg)
I want to try acupuncture but I'm slightly terrified of needles. I can probably put that fear aside if I knew it would work.

I highly recommend it.
I'd love to try it for headaches. ?I've been very lucky to not got many (or at least not near as severe as before) since I've been pregnant.
I've only ever heard good things about it!?
I've toyed w/ trying it for my migraines...
but after visiting the uber-headache clinic (well worth the $$$ it cost me); I'm doibng enough better that I hesitate to upset the status quo.
(hell, I refuse to start weaning off my preventatives so we can TTC until April, when work = more sane)
