  I don't think you can sterilize those... I think it gets too hot.  I just wash with hot soapy water.

  The drop ins heat up way too fast. I would just use a cup of hot water. You may burst the drop in if you over heat it. I heated it up too much once and it got very tight, thought it might blow.

  No you can't, they will burst or melt.  Just use a cup of warm water, works like a charm, doesn't need to be in there long either.
