Kay + Lynn = ?

First of all, I don't want to hear opinions on the name and how it's made up. My mn is Kay, DH's mn is Lynn. We're combining it to use for DC's mn, and that's that.

That being said, if you combined Kay and Lynn into one name, and you didn't spell it Kaylynn (too many ys and ns imo), how would you spell it??

If you just want it phonetically the same, I have seen it spelled Caylin (which I think is the most logical of all the spellings), and Cailyn. If I were you I might consider ditching one of the y's for an 1 and dropping one n... so maybe Kaylin?

I like the name regardless of the spelling. I agree that Kaylynn has two "y" and it looks like a lot but it's really not bad IMO. I know someone using Kailyn.

I guess it depends if you want the name to sound like your mn's or if you want it to look like your mn's together. Good luck!

I actually don't think Kaylynn is too bad, spelling-wise... and I love that you're able to blend your names to come up with it. Very cool. Our mn's would make Annalexander... doesn't have the same ring to it Wink

For some reason, the two "Ys" make the name look more complicated than it really is, at least to me. I have friends who named their little girl Kaelyn. I also think Kaylin looks good. Good luck!

I like you idea. Kaylynn is a little distracting, there's just too many y's. I knew a girl named "Kailyn" and I always liked that spelling. Or you could go with Cailyn, just subsitute the K for a C. HTH!

Kalynn, Kaelynn, or Kalyn maybe? I think that's a cute idea and thought of it too because my mom's mn is Kay and MIL's mn is Lynn.

Actually I think I would keep it like that (Kaylynn). But if you don't like how that looks you could use Kaylin.

I like Kailyn and Kaylin the best. Kaylynn looks weird, but if you want to keep the name spellings the same as your names, then I don't think it is awful. I would personally avoid the spelling "Kaelyn" becuase it is too different than your names. Good luck.

Kailyn looks like Kaitlyn and I think people would accidentally call her that. She will have to correct people often. Kaylin is more obvious and that gets my vote. Cute name!

i agree Kaylin is the best looking and i think its such a CUTE idea you have with your name and your DH, and its a beautiful name and doesnt sound made up to me!
