Just curious. I was told that there was a chance of infertility from the chemo, which is one of the reasons DH and I started trying so soon after our wedding. I'm curious if anyone else is a cancer survivor... if so, what type and did you have any problems trying to conceive?
I had non-Hodgkins B-Cell lymphoma... tumor in my chest.
Re: Any Cancer Survivors on here?
Hello! There are a few cancer survivors on Getting Pregnant, so you might try there as well. The ladies won't be pregnant yet, but they can share their journey with you.
I feel compelled to say "Congratulations," but I'm not sure if that's the appropriate sentiment - regardless, best of luck to you!!
Thanks! thats awesome... I got pregnant the first month off bc too
. I've been in remission for 5 years.
Congratulations on 5 years and the easy conception. I like to see other survivors on here, especially when it's for a good reason
Meeee! But I'm not pregnant yet. I had Hodgkin's 11 years ago. I am worried about ttc because of that and I'm 36. But, I never lost my period during or after treatments so the doc says that's a good sign.
I had cancerous endometriosis when I was 20, and went through 6 months of a chemo treatment, called Lupron. ?Threw me into early menopause, I lost some hair, and got arthritis. ?The hot flashes sucked. ?But I'm lucky because I went through a fairly light ordeal compared to other cancers/tumors.
However, since I was so young when they caught it, my treating Dr. thought that I would have no problems conceiving later on, even with my PCOS.
I got a little worried when I hit year 5 after treatment - the average remission is 3-5 years on Lupron - but it was 5 and 1/2 years after treatment that I got pregnant, 2nd cycle off the Pill, no drugs. ?So, it can be done!?
Me! I am a Leukemia survivor. (AML) I was diagnosed in 2000 at age 24. I had to have chemo very quickly (4 hours after being dx'd). There was no time to harvest eggs.
So far, everything is looking fantastic and I am having a healthy pregnancy. Good luck to you!
PM if you want to talk more!
