No Heath Ledger is not the first Aussie to make it in the US as an actor TYVM.

Some idiot at the local coffee shop this morning going ON and ON about Heath Ledger and finally the yanks have seen what we can do blah blah blah.

Well first of all I don't think nationality matters a shyte. So I am not interested in whether someone is Australian, American, British or Turkish.

But I was waiting for the check and I couldn't help thinking...

well there's:

Nicole Kidman

Naomi Watts

Hugh Jackman

Eric Bana

Anthony LaPaglia

Simon Baker

Toni Collette

Frances O'Connor

Radha Mitchell?

?Noah Taylor

Geoffrey Rush?

?Rachel Griffiths

Peter Finch, JAck Thompson, Bryan Brown and Judy Davis from an earlier era

Fred Schepsi, Peter Weir, ?(not acting though)

Cate Blanchett

Not even counting ring-ins like Sam Neill and Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe. Or fakes like Mel Gibson who was born in the US.?

Merle Oberon and Errol Flynn from a MUCH earlier era

I don't know who would have been earlier, Merle Oberon or Errol Flynn.

But anyway. The guy was talking out of his arse.

I thought to myself, most Americans would not even know Simon Baker or Anthony LaPaglia were Australian. And it DOES NOT MATTER that they are.

Down with nationality imho. Yes, even mine.?
