2nd Trimester

What's your 2nd Tri Pet Peeve Post

Mine: When people find out they're having a boy and say, "It was OBVIOUSLY a boy, no question."

It just seems weird to me the need to make sure the nesties know your baby boy is well endowed in your opinion.

I'm kind of a lurker, so I probably shouldn't say anything...but I feel like stirring the pot :)

  • It's so nitt-picky but I HATE when people type their name into their post every time. If you want to "sign" your posts, put it in your sig!

  • I have never thought about the "it was obviously a boy" posts that way, but I think this is hilarious.

You should have started with "I don't mean to offend anyone but..."

  • When does 3rd tri start?

    and

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and haven't felt the baby kick for a few days...should I call my doctor?

Oh and you are obviously having a boy.

    No offense.

  • I'm not a fan of name posts. I don't want to hear anyone's opinions on my name choices, and I honestly don't care what other people name their kids or how they spell it.

I think it would make more sense for them to type "I feel like stirring the pot"  because that's usually their intent.  When they say "I don't mean to offend anyone" they usually do.

  • The movement question...I know it can be frustrating, but there seems to be one post every 1-2 pages, if not more.

And when people say TMI, and it's NOTHING.  Sometimes I wonder if these women are going to be okay in the delivery room with their legs wide open....lol

As for the "obviously" a boy comment...I always thought of it as it was very noticeable/it was hard for us to miss thing, which doesn't have to mean that their little boy is well-endowed.  I know I have probably said this, and I know I didn't mean it that way....people just always seem to wonder if you are certain and such.

  • I hate the "I just want a baby bump....waaahhh" posts.  I feel like saying: "Want one like mine?  And the huge as$ that goes with it?".

Ditto this.  I SO do not understand this.

Also huge siggys no matter what's in them.  If I have to scroll through an entire PAGE just to get through your sig, it's too long.  No one's kids are that cute.

I think people might say this because those who find out "early" (the opinion of some who think "early" is anything under 20 weeks), some bumpies will say "well that was early, I wouldn't go painting the walls at 17 weeks...." and that's annoying. If there's a penis, there's a penis - I don't have to wait til 20 weeks to make sure the penis didn't fall off just because you had to wait til 20 weeks. I say it not to let others know he was well endowed (how "well endowed" can a 16-20 week old fetus be anyways!?), but to say, look, there was no questioning it's a boy and I don't expect to go back in 4 weeks and find out it's actually a girl...

That said, the weight posts are my biggest pet peeve.

  • I can't stand the heartrate/OWT question.  None of the other OWTs bother me, I actually find them funny most of the time.  I think I can't stand the heartrate one because people actually believe it.

I agree...particularly when they are like 12 weeks....

  • "Big u/s! It's a..........."

and then you have to open the post to find out boy, girl, team green, whatever. I just don't think the suspense is worth it on the board. When announcing to your family and friends, yes! But here you won't spoil anything by saying "It's a boy!" or whatever in the title.

Minor pet peeve that I don't lose sleep over or anything. But since you asked...

Also, I hate that people think the big u/s is JUST about learning the sex.

I've probably said that a few times, but not insinuating that he's well-endowed (ugh!)  Just that the u/s shot we got was very obvious, that's all.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Also, when the subject makes it sound like something horrible happened, then it turns out somebody got pickles on their Wendy's burger by mistake.

Or, somebody posts about something horrible/tragic that may or may not be happening, then never updates even though everything is fine.

Completely agree!  It's an internet message board.  I could be a 50 year old man for all you people know.  Please, stop getting your panties in a bunch over people "coming over" early.

  • I hate the term "big girl panties". In any trimester and on any board.
    *** It's funny because I'm fat ***
  • Anything regarding the gender predictor tests and their accuracy.
  • I don't like it when people don't take the time to look through old post to answer their questions. Everyday you see "When did you start feeling kicks?". It's different for everyone people. Ask your doctor.
  • it's not the post but some responses that get me - for example if a woman posts that her husband is treating her badly a lot people respond "oh he's just being a guy."  no, he's just being an *** and some women just decide to be with assholes.  my husband treats me with respect and if he ever decided to intentionally hurt me it would have nothing to do with him being a guy and everything to do with him being a disrespectful person.  i'm happy i chose wisely.  vent over :)

Totally agreed! I'm often appalled at some of the things people put up with from their husbands. I couldn't imagine.
