Is it a sign of teething? Or just a cute developmental thing? Or both - depending on how he does it?

(He started out licking his lower gums, but now sticks it out a lot both licking his lower gums but just out, like a cheeky monkey...)

I was gonna post something about this too. It's so cute. He does it when he is concentrating or it seems like it's just for fun. Maybe it's a teething thing, but I bet it's more of a, "Hey I found my tongue" thing.

This seems to be the case for us. DS started doing this around 4 months, and my mom was convinced he was teething. Cut to 5 months later and we are still 100% toothless.

I''m actually relieved by this post -- DD has been sticking her tongue out and leaving it there for minutes at a time, and I was wondering if something was wrong! She is highly amused by it:-)
