I don't understand this.

My mother, my own mother, asks if it is ok to touch my belly yet random people feel it's ok to do without asking?

I love babies and pregnant women and I've never been compelled to just reach out and start rubbing my hands on their body.That's weird.

when a stranger reaches out and touches... you should tell them exactly that. Maybe then they'll realize how out of line they are.

My "mentor" always rubs my belly, but it doesn't bother me when she does it. Her 2 yr old loves to rub my belly as well, but she talks to "her baby" thru my belly button.

the only time i have ever touched a pregnant belly was last summer this girl at a 4th of july party was talking to me about being pg, and her baby started moving, and she grabbed my hand, and was like, see? and i still felt uncomfortable touching her.

Luckily, most people have asked first (and I've politely said no). My bf did it first and then asked at which point I, not so nicely, told her no. LOL She caught me in a bad moment, too. I won't even let my sisters touch it. That's my space, people!

I couldn't agree with your mom.

My mom actually touched my belly without asking the last time they visited and then apologized afterward. It actually didn't bother me as much as I expected it to, but I think I would slap a stranger if they did it to me.

I told DH that I want a shirt that says DON'T TOUCH right across the stomach for when I'm really showing.....which I think I'll need to get soon. Then I can wear it in public, and hopefully people get the hint! I think he thought I was joking, but I'm very serious.
