Eating lunch when you want to puke?

I am really nauseous today, I am wondering is it better to skip lunch so I can be sure to hold it together at work or do I really need to eat to help my little seed gain strength even if I am not very interested in food.

Oh BTW I am a fast talker who often posts in run on's hope this doesn't bug anyone, my Nestie boards are used to me.Big Smile

  • Ooops sorry for the triple post, the bump went a little crazy on me and now will not let me delete

  • Wow, you talk so fast the nest triples your posts!
  • Even when I am holding back the dry heaves, I still try to nibble on something.  I just take it slow to judge how my stomach feels.  Good luck.
  • Today is my worst day of sickness so far. I didn't have anything to eat today, just some black tea with a little honey. I've been munching on saltines and am going to get some soup later on, even though the thought of food is making me sick as hell. I think it's better to at least force something down for your little baby. That's why I'm eating. It needs it more than I do.
  • EAT!!! it will make your sickness SO much worse if you don't. TRUST ME!
  • Most times during the day when I start to feel gross, it's because I'm hungry. Eating something, no matter how awful I feel, generally makes me feel a little bit better. But that's just me, I know everyone's different.
  • I was feeling that way this morning and so I didn't eat.  BIG mistake.  I will eat next time...

  • Yep I still eat even if I feel yucky. It seems like my m/s gets worse when I am hungry and I usually do feel better after I eat, however I don't eat much and I don't eat anything that is a favorite. I don't want to puke it up and never want to eat it again!

This is my 2nd pg and I will never think of a few foods that same way after barfing them up multiple times 3 years ago. Refuse to make that mistake again!

  • You should try to eat something, even if it is only crackers.  Your baby needs you to eat :)

I am in the unfortunate circumstance of having GD (Gestational Diabetes).  I am told I HAVE to eat every two hours.  Food however does not interest me at all.  I dread having to eat.  I haven't had m/s yet, but I am nauseous about 75% of the day.  Even thinking of food makes me want to dry heave.

  • you should try to eat something. sometimes eating makes the nausea subside. i like to eat cheese and crackers, and turkey and avocado sandwiches.
  • ive found that drinking ginger & lemon tea when i wake up helps and sucking on some lemon candy has helped also.  calms my stomach down enough to get a little bit of food in there Smile
  • I've been feeling like I'm seconds away from gagging ALL damn day.  I've been trying to eat little snacks even though I feel like they will end up in my trash can.  I'm also on capsule #4 of Ginger, had some Ginger Ale with lunch and I've been wearing Sea-Bands since I got out of bed this morning.
