Can I rub it with a little bit of olive oil before I put it in the oven to roast? Super Baby Food says I can rub it with butter, but DD has a dairy allergy. I used olive oil on her cradle cap when she was much smaller, and she had no problem with it on her skin. Do you think this is ok? Also, the squash is organic but the olive oil isn't - will I be negating the "organic" if I add non-O EVOO? (silly, I know, but just wondering if anyone knows how much pesticide olives absorb & how much would get into the oil)
Re: Making butternut squash for baby - is this ok?
I'm not sure about the pesticides in non-organic olive oil either, but when we made squash for DS, we just roasted it in the oven without any butter or olive oil and it turned out great.
Ditto, that's how I cook it.
