So I am a little nervous. I went to the doc today and he said I was measuring 3lbs 10 ounces and in the 91st percentile. I have to go back in 2 weeks to have a growth scan again. I did the gestational diabetes test and it was fine, but he said if the baby is still measuring this large I may have to do it again. I am a little scared something could be wrong.
If you had a scan around this time, what did the baby weigh? THX
Re: (Large) Fetal weight at 29 weeks?
at 31 weeks (i think) baby was 3lbs6oz in the 37th percentile.
At 31w, my baby was measuring 4 lbs, 11oz (93rd percentile). I DO have GD and have had weekly scans ... at 34w, baby was measuring at 8lbs, 12oz.
But. I have excess fluid. And while baby *might* be big at birth, it is believed he won't be THAT big.
baby's measurements are taken by head and belly ... so you could have a big headed, big bellied baby who doesn't weigh all that much.
GL!
I had a scan at 31w and baby was 3.5 lbs, about the 50th percentile.
My u/s tech told me though that her measurements can be off by as much as a pound. Those things aren't always accurate.
I wouldn't worry too much about it- these tests are notoriously wrong. I had one at 27weeks that estimated the baby to be 2lbs, 11oz- which would be about the same as yours at 29 weeks (my doc estimates an ounce a day for weight gain).
My DH was a large baby, and I was average sized- so we are assuming this baby will be on the larger side- but likely under 9lbs.
I would just follow through with your doctor's recs and try to not worry about it.
I am so confused by all this weight talk. I asked my OB at my app yesterday if he could estimate the weight for me and he said "no, and anyone who tells you they can is LYING." I was like oh...ummm ok. Because everyone I see who is pregnant says they know and are surprised when I dont. He was like "No its not possible to give an accurate estimate even through ultrasound. They best way is to measure your belly."
So now I am so confused about all this..
At 29w6d (Tuesday), they were 3 lb 3 oz & 3 lb 15 oz.
I passed the GD test too but they ask me this at every u/s.
