do you all bathe your DC before bed?

honestly...by the time 5-6 o'clock rolls around I'm just too exhausted to give them a bath!  Some people say giving their baby a bath before bed makes them sleep better...not my kids!

I just gave them a bath and feel relieved that it's over with for the day!  :-)

Re: do you all bathe your DC before bed?

  • I used to give them baths in the morning until they were about 7-8 months. ?Then I wanted to get into a good routine at bedtime that included the bath. ?I felt the same as you but once I could start putting them in the tub together in those bath seats it became MUCH easier for me. ?

  • I'm with you too - I like to do it in the afternoon when I still have energy. Though I guess that will have to change when I go back to work. Ugh.
  • I know I only have one, so it is much easier for now, but I used to give Emily a bath before bed, and it seemed like she was up all the time.  So I give her baths before her nap, and she STTN now.
  • Ditto, we tried the before bed bath but it did not seem to help with sleep and we were always SO exhausted it was hard to enjoy.
  • I used to feel that way too but now that it's in the bedtime routine it goes quickly.
  • I'm back at work so during the week I give them baths right when we get home and then have dinner and play time before they go to bed.

I tried doing it in the mornings but it was too hectic trying to get all of us ready and out of the house before 8am.

I do find that the lavender bath soap and lotion make a difference in getting them settled down.

  • when i give them a bath it's usually before bedtime (except sometimes on weekends i give them in the morning.) but i only bathe them 2-3 times a week. it is exhausting!

  • We used to do it mostly in the afternoon (only less fequently before bed), and every couple of days.  But now that they are eating solids and getting messy, i see why others bathe daily and every night.  I don't want them going to bed with gunk under their chins and in their fingers, and their poop is much more lethal now than when it was just milk!  That being said, i work full time and am SO tired and usually still haven't had dinner yet, and generally want to skip out on baths every single night.  So we bathe them every other night or every 2 nights.

I know, totally "european" of me but so far they are doing ok being dirty.

  • Maddie gets a bath every other night because of dry skin/excema.  I do give her one just before bedtime.  Somenight she is ready for her milk and out cold other nights she wants to run around before her milk and bed.  We might feel differently once the twins are here though.
  • We try to, but it doesn't always happen. A lot of times it's a rushed bath before my husband goes to work. Or sometimes we grab each baby and wash them quick in our shower. :-)
  • we began doing it at night time around the 8 month mark, it gets easier as they get older.?
  • Bath is a part of our night time routine.  I like it because it is time I get to spend just me and the girls.  And usually it is one-on-one time which is great.
  • We give them baths in the morning.
