Best airline to travel with baby?

Hi everyone... I'm planning a trip from CA to NY to visit family this spring. ?Can anyone suggest a good airline that is more accommodating for families traveling with little ones? ?Which airline have you had good experiences with? ?Bad experiences? ?Thank you!

  • Don't have an airline suggestion but I do suggest getting DC their own seat. We took Delta and it was hard but better b/c we had bought a seat for our DS and we were ab;e to have more room and we had an area for diaper changes. We had his infant carrier at the time and we were able to put that down in the seat and have a place to lay him when he fell asleep.?

We will be flying in April and we still got him his own seat b/c it made life easier. ?

  • I'm not sure how they are for domestic flights, but we've always had great luck with NWA/KLM flying internationally with DS.  The only issue we ran into was that they were inconsistent with their "rules" for what age/size babies could use the bulkhead basinettes.  Our 8 month old son was deemed "too large" but a 6 month old who was noticeable larger than DS was given one (we sat across the aisle from the other parents).

They brought us extra blankets and quite a few times, slipped a pillow under my arm while I was feeding DS if they thought I looked uncomfortable.  They filled bottles and sippycups for us with water whenever we requested it.  Good luck!

  • I think getting a first class seat instead of an extra seat will be the way we do it next time. They usually aren't nearly full in first class, and the extra room is soooo needed. I can't imagine us both in a coach seat again, especially now that he's older and more active? No way.
