DS is Roman. We have a LOOOONG Italian last name that starts with an M. DH picks out very traditional italian names like Nino, Nico, Carmelo etc. Def NMS. I want something that sounds masculine, and is somewhat classic, but not a name that you hear everyday.
I'm voting Max right now (even thought it is becoming more common) and DH is begging for A.J. (which creates an entire other issues of picking the A and J names!!).
Any suggestions for names that sound good with Roman and a long italian last name?? We find in out in 2 weeks if this one is a boy or a girl. Why are boys names so much harder!!!????
Re: Italian-ish sounding boys names?
Not sure if they are your style, but I have some Italian boy (and girl) names in my list here:

I like Dante for a boys name...
Dante
Massimo
Gianni
Antonyo
Luca
Paolo
Matteo was my fav boy name even before I got married. Unfortunately, it's also part of my last name
I'd be somewhat ok with Rocco if it weren't DH's uncle's name - and I cannot STAND his uncle.
Thanks for the ideas ladies... lots of ones that I hadn't thought of!
I'm italian too...my italian name list was: Luca, Lorenzo for a boy and for a girl Gianna, Isabella, Alessandra
