Can't. stop. buying. toys....

Over the course of the past couple of weeks, I have constantly had the urge to buy DD new toys.  I think it's b/c she's become so much more interactive over the past month or so, and seems to enjoy her toys so much...I've resisted for the most part so far, but I can see a large Amazon.com purchase in my near future.  DH is not going to be happy (I work, but I'm an impulse buyer when it comes to DD:-).  Anyone else have this problem??

Edit:  I read this again, and realized it could sound bad -- I am in no way implying that a SAHM has less of a right to buy her baby toys -- just that the reason DH would be annoyed is not that I'm not "bringing home the bacon"

  • I feel the same way right now but to talk myself out of it I look at all the neat things she already has that she has yet to fully discover.
  • hahaha.  I went through this a bit at Christmas and had to hold myself back (I stopped at 10 toys)  what got me over it?  Seeing DD prefer to play with everything in our apt. that is NOT a toy:  remote control (no interest in her sesame street toy one), all things paper, empty baby bottles, my breast pump and parts therein...I can think of so many other things I could have done with $200+.  Luckily, I like to play with the toys! :D

    Frick on a stick -- you're meanWink

And I know that you other ladies are right -- she has a FP Zoo that her grandma bought her for Christmas, and is just now discovering new ways to interact with it.  That, and the Sunday newspaper advertisements are one of her favorite toys -- we look through them together every week!

  • I agree some of DD's favorite 'toys' are; an empty tissue box, an old remote (after she kept changing the channel and turning up the volume a lot we learned not to give her the new one) a plastic cup and her diaper caddy (she loves taking out her diapers and the pack of wipes.  They are all in the same room she plays with her activity table and animal train and talking puppy and pop ups toy. the remote and cup even end up being put away in her 'toybox'
  • Oh, I forgot -- she also loves Starbucks coffee cups (with lids), to the point that when I go to get my Saturday morning latte treat, I ask them for an extra cup:-)
