Stuffed animals are dangerous?

My mom gave DS a fuzzy stuffed bear wearing a red shirt for Valentine's Day. She said "I know I shouldn't have, since he can't play with it yet."

Why is the bear dangerous? I'm not letting him sleep with him in his crib or anything. Thanks!

    I don't think it has so much to with the animal (I could be mistaken) but more with the "parcels" that could fall off and be hazardous. Like the eyes, if they aren't sewn on then an infant shouldn't play with it.
