CRAZY Story - How did I miss this on the news?!?

I must've been living in a hole back in 2005...don't know how else I could've missed this story. In any case, DH and I watched Sarah's story on a Biography program called "I Survived," last night. I guess she's also been on Oprah, too. The story completely freaked me out...especially since I just stopped by two different houses, last week, BY MYSELF to pick up baby items from craigslist postings. I hate to be paranoid, but I guess you just can't be too careful these days.

Without even looking at the links, is this the story about the woman who was attacked by the woman who was pretending to be pregnant and gotten one of her baby registry items by mistake? And the attacker ended up dead?

That was a horrible, horrible story. Thank goodness that woman and her baby survived. I actually used to work at the same company that Sarah did, although I didn't know her personally. I don't think you can EVER be too careful in this world anymore.

I'm sorry! Let me clarify - the story isn't related to craigslist [per se]; however, it just made me realize that I shouldn't be as trusting as I can sometimes be. The [female] predator lured the 9 month pregnant woman to her apt based on a story related to a supposed baby registry mix-up; but it's still so scary...especially since it happened in Fort Mitchell, KY!

Didn't this actually happen around here? In Northern Kentucky or something? I remember hearing about it though and couldn't get over it! Definitely makes you think twice!

Sistrkate - Yep, that's the story. I can't believe I hadn't heard this story, before now. Again - not trying to freak anyone out; but I felt compelled to share...it was definitely eye-opening and will force me to take a little more caution in the future.

I totally remember that story. I guess I'm super paranoid because when I was pregnant with DS I had a couple come up to me at Babies R Us and ask me if I wanted to buy some boy clothes from them. They said they had just found out their ultrasound was wrong and wanted me to come look at the clothes out in their car. It totally freaked me out. You can never be too careful.

This, sadly, has happened more than once. And the other 2 times that I've heard of, the women were killed. But the babies survived and were reunited with their fathers.

You should NEVER go by yourself to someones house.... from Craigslist or any other "sale". Always take your DH. You just never (sadly) know when a predator is waiting.

I remember this story because I saw it on Snapped!!! CRAZY is all I will say. I was so shocked to hear that it was so close to home.

She worked with me for about a month, and her BF was still working at the same company when this happened. I remember getting goose bumps when she was telling me about it at lunch.
