Today sucks - My mother's heart

Today just sucks all the way around. My mom went into atrial fibrillation on Monday. They switched her medicine hoping that would put her heart back into rhythm. It has not worked and tomorrow, she will undergo general anaesthesia and have it shoked into rhythm. My mom is 71, has two heart valves that are leaking and has a ministroke a few years ago.
I am so scared. I am an only child. My mom had breast cancer when I was 13 and she and I were not close during my middle school, high school and early college years. We have become much closer since I have been in gradaute school. My maternal grandmother died of heart problems of which my mother, two aunts and an uncle have as well.
I am the verge of tears. My parents have been through so many things health wise. I know that worry doesn't change anything but I just cannot seem to stop thinking/worrying. It doesn't help that I am waiting for AF to show. My LP was 12 days last cycle, 14 days the two cycles before that. I am 15 dpo. I was waiting until 17 dpo to test if AF had not come by then. My dh keeps pushing me to test but I want to wait until tomorrow at least for FMU.
I am emotional before AF, so I figure she's just playing with me since I am stressed. I would be overjoyed if I was pregnant but I am not hopeful that is the case. I think it is the end of this cycle.
I think not knowing what will happen tomorrow with my mom is making my stress about AF since it is easier to project my fears onto that then my mom.
Sorry for the long post. My hormones are getting the better of me and I just needed to vent to someone before I lose it at work.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, that is awful. I hope the doctors can do something to help her. ((BIG HUGS))
As far as testing, do it when you're comfortable. AF plays with my emotions too but I was super emotional before my BFP too. GL!

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. ?My mother?unexpectedly?died three weeks ago today. ?I am assuming it was a heart attack but will know for sure in a few days. ?I too am an only child so I can relate to your feelings.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Health problems are one of the most painful things...I'm going through some crap with my Grandma right now. It just drains you, and messes with everything in your life. ::hugs::
I do hope you get your BFP!
My mom is now at the hospital having the pre-procedure tests run. SHe seems very upbeat which has made me a little less stressed. She even wanted to go back to work today after the procedure but my father will make her stay home and rest per doctor's orders. Thank you fo your thoughts and support.
Stress is not my friend. My LP this month was 15 and AF arrived during the night. So no BFP but I do have AF so at least I know what is going on now. On to another month and a new cycle to try again.
Thank you again for all of your words. They have helped me realized that there are so many good people out there. I will update this afternoon on how things went. I should know by 1 pm or so. Less than 4 hours and counting down.
