2nd Trimester

I think I got kicked in the bladder!

I have an anterior placenta, so I really haven't had much movement.  I thought I felt something last week, but it was more like a couple of muscle twitches than anything - and I really had to concentrate to feel it.

Anyway - the other day I was sitting reading, and I felt a weird muscle twitch and then the strangest sensation in my bladder like I had to pee really badly.  It happened twice in about a 10 second period.  When I went to the bathroom, my bladder was almost empty.  Do you think that's what it was?

Where is your bladder in relation to the baby at this point?

Re: I think I got kicked in the bladder!

  • Could be.  My kicks in the bladder always feel like a whoosh of air with some weight, like a spring...not sure how to exactly describe it.

And the bladder is below your uterus...you can look at my blog, I do weekly updates and the picture shows where it's at.

  • I went to the Dr. last Tues. and told her that I think I may have a bladder infection.  I feel like I have to pee, and then go sit, and nothing comes.  She sent out my urine for a culture and wrote me a prescription just in case. But she did say that my baby is low (based on where she found the heartbeat) and that it could be kicking my bladder and making me feel like I have to pee (and she did say we have a very active baby).   I called in on Friday, and the culture was negative.  I still feel it, mostly at night, which is probably when the baby is the most active.  I also have an anterior placenta, so these kicks to my bladder have been all I've felt from the baby so far.

    Hmmm - interesting.  Thanks!
