i have his book and basically believes in *levels* of CIO depending on age, but at a certain point he thinks you should just let the baby cry until he/she falls asleep (extinction).
I couldn't get behind this book....it was very helpful to describe the importance of sleep and baby sleep cycles, but I could never just close the door on my wailing babe.

My miracle...I love this man. Even solved my toddlers behavioral issues. It was all sleep related.
Saying, "It is not levels of CIO" is misleading. It offeres No cry, some cry and full CIO options depending on your comfort level and the childs personality base on age appropriateness. We did no cry with this child and she has been sttn for 4 weeks now.
It does not advocate closing the door on a crying baby. There is a CIO method in there but it is for much older children, not infants.
