shopping haters, hate on!
I wonder why there is ALWAYS a pabst or ten about someone's shopping...I shop a lot, and though I rarely mention it here, I use those "look at what I bought" posts to see if it is something I wanna buy, or not buy...I think a lot of oeople probably like that.
I am also really interested to see when certain trends hit different regions of the country- things seem to hit way later in the midwest, for example.
I do think some people just want others to *think* they buy more fabulous things than they really do- but whatever.
anyway- I would like the shopping posts to continue.

The title of this post cracks me up. I am one that hates those types of posts...because there is one person in particular, who that is ALL she posts about, that is it. It is like she pops on here just to tell us about the $$$$ item she just bought. Other girls post about shopping too, like eclaires, minnas, etc, but they also have another dimension (did I even spell that right?).
Just my .02.

I enjoy the shopping posts, even though I am on a spending freeze currently. Hey, I'm materialistic, and I like to see what people buy.
But whatever, the PABSTs are probably about me anyhow, LOL. I'll cry in my shoe collection tonight.
Well, they draw a big eyeroll from me because they are usually so transparent in their attention seeking. Look at me, look at what I can afford, aren't I cute, aren't I cool, don't you all want to be like me?
I'm from the south and here the people who talk about money don't usually have it. And it is just tacky!
Clearly, I love the shopping posts.
I always think the shopping PABSTs could be about me...although I don't think that's *all* I post about.
Anyway, I agree that the shopping posts should continue!
Beth, I am guessing it's about me. Which is fine. I usually only post if a), I want an opinion on something, or b) I've gotten a great deal and want to share it...thinking $14 on the dress that I can wear to two weddings this summer.
I consider myself to be more of a creative recessionista than anything. I could go as far as to say that nobody on here has any clue how much money we do or don't have...

I think there is something underlying here:
take yer pick.
1. jealousy
2. an intense dislike for a certain nestie, and a loss for words when wanting to call said nestie out-resulting in a shopping post tirade.
3. an inner loathing for life's fineries.
if it is number 2, which to get all scatological,is in fact "number two"...heh heh-PLEASE won't you just do a call out and let's have us a good ol' parenting war?

It will annoy me when.
A. People dictate what people CAN and CANNOT post about on this board.
B. People take WAYYYY too personally what someone else is doing with their life....you want to spend money, fine..you can't spend money, fine. but don't make person A's money habits a personal attack on person b not being able to spend money.

Ditto this. Plus, all those people buying designer bags are stimulating the economy so people can get their jobs back, right?

It is co. Honestly, all she posts about are her new True Religions, Lulu Lemon clothes, etc. It just bothers me. I don't NOT like her, I don't really know anything about her, except she buys all of the clothes I wish I could afford to buy. This is not jealousy, it just seems weird that she comes on her just to post about such things. Maybe I miss other posts from her, I dunno.
If any of you know me, you know I am not mean, it just really confuses me. I am sure she is super nice and all that. I like all of her friends a lot, minnas, eclaires, etc. But, I just don't get the constant look what I bought posts.

I wish I could...but you usually find the best stuff. Plus, I'm naming my kid after you and don't want to ruin that.
I've never noticed that about her. I lurk a lot, even though I don't always post.
ETA: Now that I've thought about it, I don't think I've EVER seen a shopping post from her. Maybe one response in a post about how she really loves how she feels in designer denim, but that's it. She's posted a lot about her weight loss and in other posts, but I've really never seen a shopping post from her.

Really? Because I know a lot more about co aside from what's in her closet. And I don't talk with her off the boards, so I could only have gleaned that information from her posts. I beg to differ that her shopping is *all* she posts about and that she comes on the board merely to brag about her spending habits.
If I could rock TRs the way co does, I'd be posting all over this board and several others about my fab jeans and the way my hot ass looks in them. Considering what she's got to work with, I think she keeps it exceptionally tame in the bragging department.

Lol...I am not trying to be confrontatioal, but I know everone always posts these things and then "runs", and so I wanted to say who I was referring to. She seems nice enough, and I am totally not trying to be a b*tch, it is just bizarre to me. And I know a lot of other people post the same thing about her, and they are to chicken sh*t to own up to it.
Sorry you feel that way about me, because I'd like to say that's FAR from what I come on here to post about. In fact, I'd say that the vast majority of the posts I make on here are helping people develop a diet plan, or get started running, or sharing good recipes, or my magic diaper cream.
In fact, about 15 nesties email me regularly to either weigh-in, track their exercise, ask questions about half-marathons, etc. I am sorry you see me as being so single sided, because I don't think I am going out on a limb here to say that is insanely far from the truth.
For what it's worth, and NOT because I owe you ANY explanation, but I work part-time just so that I can have nicer workout/running clothes, designer jeans, etc.
Ok, I am sooooo not a drama starter. I never intended to start any, but I hope she understands where I am coming from. Also, I am sure she does post about other things, I can only be on here so much! This is why they should be anonymous, I just wanted to tell her, so she would not be wondering, and hopefully I could explain where I was coming from, in my opinion.
I really do not think co is the one who they were talking about. I personally thought you were talking about someone else.
Kap -- you have great taste in names, OBVIOUSLY.
I will say I'm pretty surprised that aggie meant co, because I think she rarely posts stuff like that and posts a lot more about weight loss and exercise (which I think is helpful and very inspirational). Also, if I was co, I'd put a picture of my ass in TRs in my sig, LOL.
I'm curious as to who spoiled #1 and spoiled #2 are in mattslady's PABST though - i think she should SPILL b/c she's not one to pull any punches.
Sorry, but you can't call someone out on only posting and boasting about their clothes and say you weren't trying to start drama. That's just sort of a cop out.

Whatevs. Co is about SO much more than shopping. What about drinking? And remember, she has an eating disorder so she is our resident expert on Scarf and Barf. I can't tell you how many times I've asked her for recs on storage, methods, etc.

Ok people - the ONLY reason I named Co was because people post this crap all the time, and no one says who they are talking about, Get some freaking balls!
Also - I am big enough to admit that I am probably way wrong in my impression of her. Maybe I just happen to only see those posts. I am happy to admit that I am probably wrong. I am glad that I am. My whole big problem with it is that sooo many people are struggling and it SEEMED like that was all I read from her, so it really aggravated me.
Again, SO not a drama person. Sh*t, next time, I post and run!
