I'm pretty easy going about most things, but our neighbors have been driving me nuts lately. The most recent issue is with the storms last week, our neighbors dead (going on 2+ years) pine tree uprooted and fell on our driveway.
I saw him out on Friday and he said he'd take care of it over the weekend. It's now Tuesday and it's still there. It's not an issue of his capability of doing it himself. He has all of the resources and equipment to take care of it himself. Plus, he's a contractor and works out of his house so he's home all the time.
How long should we give him before we start complaining about it? My DH is far too busy with our own projects to cut up a dead tree. Otherwise, I'm sure that's what we would do.
And another related issue to the neighbor: About 3 years ago they had an in-ground pool put in. They have never put an enclosed fence around the pool. I believe this is the law. I have already contacted the township and gentleman working there said he would contact the homeowner (which is actually our neighbor's parents who live in Florida). Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about this. There are several small children who live close enough that it makes me very nervous.
Thanks for reading this far!
Re: WWYD re: neighbors
I believe (at least in the city & my parents township) that the part of the tree in your yard/driveway is your responsibility, unless you can prove that it was dead. My parents had the same situation & it was much cheaper & less agrivating to go buy a chainsaw & remove the tree themselves.
As for the pool I would definately try calling the police or calling the township again & telling them that the house is "rented" & that you have no way to contact the actual owners of the house, see what they suggest next.

The tree is undeniably dead...down to no needles and rotting branches. The easiest solution is for us to remove it but for once I would love for them to take responsibility for their property. I could tell a dozen other horrific stories. :-)
