At what appts did you get an u/s?

This seems like a first tri question, but at what check-ups did you get an u/s? I've had one (at 7 weeks- my first check up) but none since. He said if they couldn't find the heartbeat on dopplar, then we'd do an u/s but we haven't needed to. I really just want to see the liitle bean again but when??

For the record I'm going to ask him next week at my check-up but what has been everyone else's experience?

I had one at 9 wks, i was supposed to be 8 weeks, then 12 wks for NT, 15 wks b/c i was having pain. My next will be at 20. HTH

1st around 7 weeks, 2nd around 11.5 weeks for the NT scan, and 3rd at 18 weeks (big u/s). ?Everything looked good, so the tech said I probably wouldn't have another one unless the doctor ordered it.

i had one at 6 weeks, then 12, 16, 20 and will have the last at 24 unless something doesn't look right - they have been monitoring my cervix to make sure it isn't shortening. most doctors will only do 1 or 2 unless medically necessary, so count your blessings that you are doing well! i know it doesn't make it any easier to wait for the next u/s, but at least things are going well!

I had one at my first apt. a little after 6 weeks.

Then I had one at 12 weeks for the NT test.

My next one is tomorrow at 20 weeks.

I didn't get one until I was 20 weeks. That's how my doctors office is though.

I know some people ONLY get the 20W, we were only supposed to get two, one at the beginning and the 20W, but we had some complications and then couldn't hear the HB on the doppler, and then got another because we had an NT scan, so we've had 4 already and are only planned for one more at 20W.

I am only getting one u/s and that's at 20 weeks. My insurance only covers one u/s the entire pregnancy unless there's an issue.

I had one at 7w3d, first appt. I had one when I went in for spotting. I had one at 12w because they couldn't find her HB with the doppler and then I had one at 19w3d for my anatomy screen. I also get one tomorrow because they didn't see everything they needed to at the anatomy screen because the baby wouldn't cooperate.

If DH and I had decided not to do the NT testing, we would have only had the anatomy u/s, which for us was at 18 weeks.

I had my first at 13 weeks and then I'll have my big one at 20 weeks...That's all my insurance covers, unless medically necessary

I had my first u/s, NT, at 12 weeks. I'll have my second (and probably last) u/s on Wed. at 22 weeks

8 weeks because I have an ovarian cyst and 16 weeks for measurements (we also found out it was a boy). My OB said I won't be having any more.

The Ultrasounds I have had are always scheduled, not done during a regular appointment. I had one a 9 weeks to check for a heartbeat, one at 12 weeks for my NT Scan, one at 21 weeks the big U/S and we will have another week 26 since the Maternal Fetal Medicine Dr. thought he saw clubbed feet.

I had one at the beginning for a dating ultrasound (12 weeks...would've been a little earlier had I found out I was pregnant earlier). Then my new doctor's office does the BIG anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks (it's usually 18-22 most places). They didn't get a good look at his spine and his umbilical cord, so we had a follow-up at 22 weeks.

14 weeks to find out how far along i was, 16 weeks to check for Down Syndrome Markers, 24 weeks to follow up on the Heart and check everything else, and i'll probably have one more around 30 weeks.

seems like a lot but they are fun!

8, 11, 12 (NT Scan), and I will get them every other week from 14 to 24 weeks. I am not the norm though, I am at risk for IC.

My first u/s was at my first appt at 9 weeks, the next was at 13 weeks 3 days bc I had bleeding (everything was fine) and the next one (the biggie) will be at 19 weeks. Good luck!

I have gotten at least one a month ... my Dr. wants to do that to keep an eye on both. He almost didn't give me one last month and I reminded him, "no I get one today!!!!" ....

I had u/s at 5w, 6w and 9w at my RE. At 8w I had my first OB appointment and got one there, but I switched OBs after that appointment. I got one at 10w with the new OB, NT Scan at 12w, another u/s with the OB at 14w. Big u/s was 18w and I'll get one on Wednesday too.

However, I did IVF and had had numerous early losses prior to this pregnancy (hence all the early u/s) and was diagnosed with complete placenta previa at 14w (hence continuing with a u/s at every appointment - at least until it resolves). I'm obviously not a typical case.

I had one at five weeks when i first found out because i was having sharp pains on my side and they wanted to rule out ectopic...then i had to get another one the following week because to make sure a baby was forming in the sack...i didnt get the NT done so my next ultrasound will be at 20 weeks...which i cant wait any longer for!!

For most people it is 1 or 2.

Some people get one to date the PG( at 6/8 weeks), and one at 18/20 weeks for what we call the BIG U/S. Some get one at 12 weeks, for what I think is called a quad screen.

I had one at 10 weeks then 12 weeks, but only had the 12 week one because my dr. was unable to measure how lond baby was on first u/s. i will have another one done at 20 weeks to find out the sex as well as to make sure everything looks good.

I got one at my first appt at 12 weeks and will again at 20 weeks. Then I won't get any more unless they are medically necessary.

My Dr likes to do u/s so we had one at 9wks (w/ pic), 13wks (w/pic), DH asked at 17wks and we got one (w/o pic) and then at 20wks to find gender/do measurements. The Dr said that all we had to do was ask (given that the office isn't swamped with patients).

My doctor traditionally does them at 8 weeks and 20 weeks. I've had them at 8, 12 and 20 and will have another later this month. 12 week due to cysts, end of Feb due to a possible problem with the baby's bowel that needs to be confirmed by a specialist.?

7wk (check on viability since no HB on first)

11wks (couldn't find HB due to anterior placenta)

24wks (this Fri) to check baby's heart because couldn't get a good shot last time

I wouldn't be shocked if I had another 1 or 2..so 6 or 7 I think.

I've had one at every appointment and believe I will until my big U/S. I have had a prior loss, but my doctor's policy is to give one at every visit as my friends who haven't had a history of complications have also gotten one at every visit.

So I've had one at 5w6d, 9w, and 13w2d so far. My next appointment I should be 17w2d and then we will schedule the big U/S for between 20 and 22 weeks!

My doctor scheduled one around my 20 week. Thats to look at all the organs, take measurments of all the bones, count fingers and toes, head measurments and gender if you want to know.

We had our first at 10 weeks and then again at 19 weeks to find out the sex. I will be having another one at my next appt (at 23 weeks) b/c they want to measure her again since she measured a bit small at the last u/s.

My first child I had them at 10wks (found out was pg at 81/2wks), 20wks(was told it was a girl), and 26wks (the dr saw a spot on the brain and they wanted to see if it dissolved or not after 6wks). Everything was fine except our little girl grew a stick and berries!

My 2nd it was at 9wks and 20wks to find out the sex. With baby #3 I've had them done at 9wks, 16wks (couldn't HB w/ doppler). My dr will not do the u/s to determine sex until after 24 weeks!! I think he wants to put off telling me cause I'm really hoping for a girl (Hubby has a son from a PR and we have two boy together. Please let him throw one girl!) Three weeks til we find out!
