Babies: 0 - 3 Months

the sex talk

I know it's a LONG way off but has anyone thought about who will do it, you or DH? I still remember when my mom had the talk with me and my brother- so humiliating! I just hope we are able to go about it in a way that she feels she can come to us if she needs too.

Re: the sex talk

  • I never officially got a "sex talk" from my parents and I figured it out... just sayin...

  • I have a 9 yr old son and we have already kind of had the talk not in detail. I'm sure my hubby will go more into detail later. I think both parents should do it...maybe at different times though
  • Both of my parents talked to my brother and I when I was 10 and he was 6. My mom was expecting our sister and my brother had asked her if babies come out your butt, LOL! I don't remember it being embarassing. My son was 5 when we started trying for #2. When he started asking we found a book called What to Expect When Mommy Is Having a Baby. It doesn't get into too much detail, but it goes over reproduction enough that he has a general idea and can ask questions as he thinks of them. So far it's gone well. Now when it comes to having THE sex talk, I'd be okay with leaving it up to DH:)
  • I got the medical book including diagrams and long, involved explanations from my mom when I was in lower elem school. I still have no idea what was what. Then my friend and I took "Our Bodies, Ourselves" out of the library when we were like 11 and figured it all out.  ;)

I am having bump difficulties today. And I meant to say "had" not "have" no idea. I understand how things work now...  :)
