its seems like i have a really quiet baby. most times he doesn't say much at all. he'll have short periods throughout the day will he babble and screech for awhile but then you might not hear another peep out of him till the next day. he's advanced gross motor wise (already starting to crawl) and seems to catch on to things quick (peek-a-boo, fake coughing, high fives, etc.) but the lack of babbling makes me nervous. being a first time mom, i don't know if i'm expecting too much too soon. how much did your baby "talk" at 6-7 months and when did he/she start saying "baba" and "dada"? thanks!
Re: how much did your baby "talk" at 6-7 months?
DS went through a quiet time between 5-6 months old. ?It was when he first started rolling and moving around. ?I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not??? ?Now... ?He's NEVER quiet. ?He's constantly babbling! ?I wonder if it has anything to do with him possibly concentrating on learning new things? ?maybe your LO is concentrating on crawling?
I wouldn't worry about it. ?Like I said- DS went through a period of not making a peep!?
DD didn't babble at all till 8 months. Before that she would screech and stuff but not really talk. It was like overnight she started saying bababa and dadada. Mama came a few weeks later. My DD was also more interested in motor skills. She started crawling at 5.5 months and is already taking steps on her own. Every baby is soooo different.
so far he will say dadada, bababa and tttttt (it sounds like hot with a stronger emphasis on the 't') but some days he is quieter than others.
like pp said...babies develop so differently from each other and have SO many other things going on, I wouldn't stress unless this continues after 12 months :-)
