... are you the kind of person who picks names WAY in advance (like me), or CRAZY late?
We have already picked Charlotte Kay for a girl ... and I'm leaning towards either Gavin/Calvin Paul for a boy (for the next round). My mother thinks I'm insane
we have had our boy name since before dd1, but i already have our girl name picked out too. I get all frazzled if I don't have names ready the second we find out the sex.
I have a running list, but nowhere near settled. We had two names for Quinn up until a couple of months before she was born. The plan was to pick when she was born, but one night at dinner we decided that Quinn it is!
i LOVE gavin and charlotte, but DH vetoed them both.
we're kinda discussing names for number 2 right now (getting short lists for each sex), but DH doesn't want to decide for sure until DC#2 is actually here. although i think i have him on the ropes with the girl name (Kira Marie)
We have Gabriel James picked out for our future son and I'm leaning towards Helena (Something) if we should have another little girl. So no I don;t think you're insane. Otherwise I guess I am too

I would say we are in the crazy late group, since DD wasn't named until she was already a day old.
I hope that we have a boy next time, because we did both agree on a boys name a long time ago, so hopefully we can just use that. I HATED picking out a name, DH and I had such a hard time agreeing!
We waited until we found out what we were having before *really* discussing it. ?I now have ideas for number 2 based on what we didn't use this time around. ?
We have our names picked out for future children, so maybe we're crazy too. LOL. If it's a boy, his name will be Kalen William (although I'm not sure how we'll spell Kalen) and if it's a girl, her name will be Katelyn Reva.
We still have the girl name we picked before we found out DS's sex and I have a backup girl name just incase we don't like Payten when the time comes. I also have a few boy names that I might like, but the boy names are hard because I already used my fav boys name.
We chose our boy name at like 8 weeks pregnant! It had been in the back of my mind for a really long time so it just worked out. I can never come up with girl names. At least, not any girl names that DH agrees with.
I definitely keep an ever-changing list in my head for #2. But I don't tell DH about it because he is soooooo not there yet.
Early usually. I still have my girl name and I love it so I will probably use it if we have a girl next time but I haven't come up with a new boy name yet.
We picked out our girl/boy names 2 days after BFP. We never wavered from Kate Marie.
We've already discussed names for #2 and #3. I don't think we'll be able to agree on a boy name as easily as we did for K, because H has his heart set on Thomas Mark for a boy, and it's just not my favorite. I'd prefer Mark Thomas, but really I love Jackson. If we have 2 more girls we like Mae Patricia and Sophie Ann.
Waaaaay late. We had Maisy home from the hospital for 5 days before we were forced to finally decide. For those 5 days we tried out our finalist names! It was insanity- I hope we are more decisive next time.
We had girl names picked out a year or two before we even started TTC. We couldn't decide on a boy's name until after we found out that DS was male and we were forced to pick.
I love names and love thinking about what we'll name #2, but I don't talk to DH about it much because he already thinks I'm insane and this would only bolster his argument. We still have our boy name that we love but are afraid to use because so many people don't love it. If #2 is a girl ... who knows.

I was obsessed with baby names a couple months before we got pregnant, we found DS's name a couple weeks before we found out we were pregnant. I am currently searching for new names for our next baby and I am not pregnant yet. But I have been told that I am sooo type A personality as is DH.
Way in advance. DH and I picked out our boy name in 2000, before we were even engaged or married. We just always knew if we had a son, that would be his name. We even have a 2nd boy name picked out in case we have twins or something next time.
We picked DD's name about 6 months before actively starting to TTC and we're already talking about girl names now in case we have another girl. We're not even planning on having another baby for at least another 2-3 years!
Since DS didn't have a name for 2 days, I guess late. Although it was the name I had in my head the whole pregnancy, for a boy anyway. I have a few girls names I like, but that could change too.
We picked out boy's name the day we got our BFP. I was reading an article out loud about naming your baby and Asher was the name of the man who wrote the article. We never agreed on a girls name, so i was somewhat relieved to find out we were having a boy. I have a few other boys names that I love but all the girls names i like sound crappy with our last name.

Kenley's was decided on the day after she was born. we've had our 'boy' name FOREVER...it'll be Jackson! We have girl name ideas in case the next one is a girl. I have a feeling girl #2 could still be a 'wait and see what she looks like" deal though
DD's first name was "my" name since high school probably. ?Told DH this for a long time so it was a no brainer. ?Had her middle name since before we got married 5 years ago right after DH's aunt with said name died. ?Have what will likely be next DD's name already picked out if we have another girl. ?Not sure about if we have a boy. ? My boy name - Owen - which has been my name forever is almost too popular now. ?Also we might do a Jr. - which would be ok. ? So that is still up in the air. ?I wish I could be more open minded and have us make lists and debate and read the books- ?but we pretty easily agree on names. ?So when/if next pregnancy happens, we will probably know the name right away. ?Next time though - I told DH - I get to tell the nurses the baby's name. ?I had to be knocked out for my emergency c-section and when I came to 2 hours later - everyone was like oh here is your baby Nora! ?That annoyed me.

I knew I wanted a Josephine since I was a teen. So it was an absolute.
For the next one, I have no idea. BUt I'm doing everything differently. We won't find out the sex, I'll meet the baby before we decide on a name, etc...
I like Matilda, & Jane for girls. And Dean and Xavier for boys. But I'll need to do a few more searches before we decide.
I have had a boy's name picked out since high school. I think I have my husband convinced. We each have a top girl pick right now (Juliet-me; Sara- H) but we know that we'll probably start a whole new list when the time comes.
We decided on DS's name a couple of days before he was born. Everyone thought we were keeping his name a secret, but we couldn't agree. I told DH that we have to have a name earlier for the next one.
I picked Joseph Nikolas when I was in 8th grade. The Matthew in the middle was a concession to my husband, who wanted a junior.
We picked Marianna Allessandra or Marianna Aurora when we were dating. It's still our choice for a girl.
We're having issues about a 2nd boy's name though. Matthew's still set on a junior, but A) I don't like juniors at all, and I think it's stupid since it's already Joseph's middle name. I like Samuel (Matt's grandfather's name), William (my grandfather), Christian, or Mattheson/Matthias instead.
We had our boy and girl names picked out by the 2nd trimester!! Since we have our little Calvin now, if we have a girl next, we will name her Claire. And we have already started discussing our next boy name, and we aren't even trying for our second yet! So, yeah, we pick our names early!
We have a girl name for the next go round but not a boy name since we used it. DS was named since before our 20 wk u/s. I had a gut feeling it was a boy. It will be hard to name another boy b/c ds's name came so easily and we really didn't have a long list.
I'm in between. We knew at about 8 months that if we had a girl she'd be Claire and if we had a boy he would be either Henry or Charlie. I had a lot of other girl names I liked but Claire was the only one we both liked equally, so, the second time around, should we have a girl I can see us having a problem finding one we both LOVE>
We are currently like Megan Marie for a DD #2. The boy name is up in the air. I still love Nathan Michael but somewhere, my DH believes that I agreed to name a DS after him...so he is pulling for Michael as the first name. Not that I don't like the name, just not sure about having two Michaels in the house. Luckily, we have a few years before we really have to decide.

Re: Since we're talking about baby names ...
we didn't have a name for DS until late 2nd tri.
there aren't any plans for a 2nd right now, so any names i'm thinking of are for dogs
i LOVE gavin and charlotte, but DH vetoed them both.

I picked out my boy name in middle school. We picked out a girl name when we started TTC.
Oh, and since we used our girl name for DD, we've already picked out a second girl name in case we ever have a DC#2.?

DD was named in the car on the way to the hospital for the induction....at least we made it an official final decision then.
DS was "Baby Boy R____" until Day 3 of life.
I think that puts us in the category of CRAZY late procrastinators!
