My sister's son has had 2 febrile seizures (he's 14 months now)- I know its super scary- his lasted so long that she had to call an ambulance and bring him to the ER. But both times,he was fine. Now, she is super careful whenever he gets sick to monitor his temp and give motrin/ tylenol around the clock if it starts to go up (as per pediatrician). I think some kids are more prone to them, and some can just get one and than never again. HTH!
DD had one last week. We have a family history of them. While it is scary, I wasn't too concerned. I know that they are harmless and its just thier way of fighting off the high fever. In most instances, they won't happen again. It's all about fever control. DD was at my SIL's napping when it happened.
