Am I wearing a sign...

that says "I'm pregnant and not telling yet... please ask me about having kids?" Sheesh! I found out YESTERDAY and have had several people that I don't even know ask me about when I'm having kids... WTH?

On a side note, does anybody else's pets seem permanently attached to them now that you are pregnant? I heard somewhere that you smell different, but that is just weird...

Re: Am I wearing a sign...

  • People keep giving me bottles of booze and offers of happy hour.  Maybe I work with too many anti kid people and they are reacting the opposite of yours.

My oldest cat has taken to following me around the house the last few days, doesn't matter where I go or how often I move.

  • My two dogs have become extremely protective of me. Our older dog never leaves my side. I think they can smell the hormones and know what's going on.

Yup and I am already so over it. It's crazy annoying.

  • One of my pups (the yellow lab mix below) has turned in to a leech. He is attached to me wherever I go and even sleeps with his head on some part of my body at night.  It's sweet, but annoying at times....

  • We gave my mom an iPod the night before we found out we are pregnant.  After we gave it to her, she said, "Oh, I thought you were going to tell me I am going to be a grandmother!"  I just said, "Umm.  No."  Lo and behold, the next day... BFP!

Oddly enough, I wrote a recent blog entry on having an "I AM PREGNANT" sign.  It could be rather helpful before the bump shows.

  • yes i agree! The day i found out my bf called and was mad cause her brother is trying for kids and they were name sharing and he's stealing her fav girl name!!!  When Im like HELLO IM THE ONLY PREGNANT ONE IN THIS CONVERSATION!

Same day a few hours later I was on the couch with a monster headache...due to my first day without caffine...and my dh's cousin called and after i told her I was on the couch with a headache she actually said...Are you pregnant??? She is pg...but we were not trying so I was flabergasted!

I honestly could go on and on...and yes my dog likes to lay on my stomach now or spoon!

ditto  Dh keeps asking me what is up with the dogs following me every where.

  • I have been having the same exact issue with people asking me.

And when I tested, one of my dogs refused to leave my side.  Such a cutie.

  • My dog hasn't bothered me too much, but she did start sleeping on the floor on my side of the bed instead of DH's. And she's gotten more nervous and clingy to us in general.

It was hard those first few weeks when we weren't telling, b/c so many friends and family knew we had been trying awhile, so when I suddenly stopped talking about it they got very suspicious. On New Year's I fell asleep at 10PM at my friends' house after drinking all their milk and declining their offer of Zantac. I'm pretty sure they knew, but were nice enough to not ask!

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
  • Haha, we have a 4 1/2 year old Chihuahua and a 1 1/2 year old boxer. The boxer is still a big dope and hasn't been acting any different, but actually now that I think about it, he has been much calmer than normal. The first two weeks after I found out that I was pregnant my chihuahua pee and pooped all over the house!! I was in extreme pain so it was either he new something was up or I just didn't put him out enough cause I couldn't get out of bed!! Welker (boxer) still seems extra patient and Tiki (chihuahua) is back to normal : )

  • My beagle isn't acting any differently that I can tell. She has always followed me everywhere anyway. She's such a mooch - always thinking I have hidden cookie sin my pockets or something. On a looney side note - I told my dog about the BFP before I told anyone (because she follows me everywhere including bathroom if she has the chance). I showed her the pee stick and said "Hey check this out".  She tried to eat it. Stupid dog sometimes.  Lol.
  • Its sooo crazy hearing you say that about your pet! My DOG will not leave my side! He follows me EVERYWHERE I go now. Its crazy. My fiance says its because I spoil  him he follows me  but I explained it different. He is like my guard dog, which might I add is a guard dog. (105lb Doberman!) haha.

He is my lil buddy but now, its INSANE how much he is attached. Its almost annoying hahahha.

  • I have a beagle, too.. but she isn't the one that is all stalker crazy! It's my cat! He's been primarily attached to DH, but lately, he will NOT leave me alone. And he just stares at DH like "I know you did something to her!"
  • My VERY unsocial cat has been attached to me these days. She lays on my belly and sleeps (which is so very not common for her). It is very sweet!!
