So, every time I mentioned CDing, my mother would huff and roll her eyes. I later found out from my sister that Mommy Dearest is "afraid that everyone will waste all that money buying CDs that she's going to give up on in a month."
1) My mother refused to understand that CDs are not what they were 30 yrs ago.
2) My mother clearly does not know her stubborn daughter. All she had to do was say that, and even if I HATE CDing, I will stick it out until DC is in college just to prove her wrong!
However, she stopped by yesterday to see how I was feeling after my little scare and I very excitedly held up my first pocket CD and exclaimed, "Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen!!??" And...
I won her over.
She even started talking about how easy they would be to make! LOL!
Re: I think I've finally converted my mother...
lol, congrats. I got a bunch of side-eye, and "mmm-kay" comments when I said I was going to start CDing DD. Pockets converted much of my family too.
First of all, lol at CDing until college.
Second, I am glad she came around! It makes babysitting much easier when they are willing to do it.
Both my mom and MIL were totally on board from day 1. SIL made a pool for people to bet how long we would last- and we have made it past all the bets so far. I think we should get the pool money, but I think SIL is embarassed that she even made the pool in the first place
You should DEFINITELY get the money! I would ask for it it I were you!
I'm not sure my MIL knows about my decision yet, but I'm just waiting to hear it from her. She's even more opinionated than my mother!
