NBR: Anna Nicole's baby better off w/o her?

I'm not voicing an opinion on this b/c I don't obviously know the situation that well but I've heard a lot of people at work say that Anna Nicole Smith's baby, Danilyn is better off without her famous mom.  I feel like it's such a harsh thing to say b/c babies need their moms but do you think if the mom is self-destructive like Anna Nicole that the baby is better off without them?

What's your opinion on this?

    um i think if a mom is a drug abuser and harmful to herself and others, her baby is definately better off without her

    I think a child just needs a positive role model who can provide a stable living environment. Just because someone gave birth to you doesn't mean they are the best person to take care of you.

    Any parent who is self-destructive and does not seek help should have their child taken away from them. There are tons of willing and ready families ready to open their loving arms to a child.

    Yes, unfortunately it's probably true.  I can't help but think of how different her son's life would have possibly played out without her influence!  Sad!

    In a perfect world, she would be best off with her biological mother, but when that mother abuses drugs or neglects her child, sometimes she isn't the best off.  Based on her drug use alone, I would have to agree.

    Well, given the reason she is without her mother, no, I don't think she is "better off." In fact, I think that's kind of harsh.

    There are no more chances for her to get her life together and since we'll never know what happened in that room with Ana Nicole, or what she had planned for the rest of her life, it just comes off "Glad she's dead."

    Giving birth doesn't make someone a mother, only being a possitive part of the child's life does.
