Watery discharge CD5 & 6 = ruptured ovarian cyst? (SAIFW)

Hi ladies - I'll preface this with the fact that I just got back from an u/s at the RE and she didn't notice anything abnormal.  However...  I hadn't thought to mention the clear watery discharge since I thought it had stopped. (doh!!)

So, I get home, and sure enough, there it is again.  Both yesterday and today I have had a clear watery discharge. Water like.  So, of course I google it and answers are pointing to ruptured ovarian cyst.  Yikes!  I had told her that my period seemed to last a lot longer this time (normally 3-4 days and this time closer to 7, with the last several days being very very light spotting).  She said that it's from the Follistim... it can cause my period to be longer.  But I didn't mention the watery discharge.  Uh oh.  Did I have a cyst? And did it rupture?

Have any of you had this?  What were your symptoms?  And what was your treatment?

Since my RE didn't notice anything during my u/s, should I assume that I'm fine?

  • I had a ruptured cyst last week. It hurt like crazy. I was doubled over in pain and couldn't even walk at one point. We went to the ER. The pain lessed by about 90% in about an hour. At the ER, they did an ultrasound, but couldn't really see anything. They decided it was a ruptured cyst based on the symptoms. There is no treatment for it, it just freaking hurts, very intensely, but briefly.

Thanks for your reply and sorry about your experience - that sounds super painful!  The strange part is that I haven't had much pain, if at all.  But it's good to read that there isn't any real treatment for it.  So, I'm not missing something that I should be doing.

I'll wait and see if the RE has anything to say about my Estrogen levels.  They took my blood for the first time during stims today.

  • Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! You are the first person who has had the same issue as me. I posted this question about two weeks ago as it freaked me out. At first I thought I had wet myself but saw "pink water" when I checked.

I went to my ob on day 3 of this odd issue and I have a walnut sized cyst on my right ovary surrounded by fluid. When I asked if that was where the fluid came from he said no, not likely. Well then, where did it come from? He didn't know.

Please let me know if you find out anything!!!
