Back after a looooong time, iui question

long story short....started trying for baby in jan 06 and nothing, got  pregnant after which i thought was an eternity (boy was i wrong) and it ended in a miscarriage. stopped trying for a little while and then started back up again. what do you know NOTHING again. i used some clomid in there but my body did not react at all. dh and i started foster care orientation about may of last year, and in december got 2 wonderful kids. Great as it is, its still really stressful and so uncertain. I just cant shake that feeling either of wanting o be pregnant and have my own....one that i can do whatever i want with, no social workers breathing down my neck.

last march i saw the re and he diagnosed me with pcos and started me on metformin, and i had the option of trying on my own for a while and he said to come back when i was ready for additional help. while there he said that the next step would be femara instead of the clomid and then a trigger shot.  i am soooooo ready for that now, i have an appt next tues and am planning on telling him this! now for the question. along with the femara and trigger can i just ask to do the iui with it?? i will pay whatever it takes but will he think i am nuts and say no?? if it has been this long is it unreasonable to ask that??

    I dont think it is unrealistic to ask for IUI.  Might as well get the best out of each cycle.

    Hey girl! Did you have a hearing of some sorts on the 2nd? How are things going?

     

    I think you should absolutely ask for an IUI if you want it... which RE are you seeing? 

    Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever!     I am sorry for you loss. I would ask for the IUI. Since you are already paying for the drugs and ultrasounds it's worth it to do the IUI, that's my thought anyway. Good luck.
