1st B-day Party invites?

Hi, girls!

Sorry so many questions about DD's 1st b-day party, but I just wanted to solicit some helpful tips/ideas!!

Where did you purchase DD's bday party invites, or how did you create a personalized one? I would like to arrange a few photos of DD on the invite, along with the basic party time/date info. We are planning on getting her 1st bday photos taken over spring break, the first week in April, so that will be after her party and birthday.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am looking for an invite that is easy to create, yet personalized and cute. :) TIA!

Re: 1st B-day Party invites?

  • We just bought fill-in-the-blank invitations, but I've seen some really cute designs on etsy.com.  You can even have it designed and then have them printed as photos yourself.

  • I ordered mine through shutterfly. We did a cupcake theme and they had a little cupcake border. I just uploaded a pic of her and typed in all the info. Pretty easy and very reasonable!

  • A friend of mine designed our for us using Photoshop.  I just told her what theme I wanted to use and gave her some pictures and let her take it from there.  Once we decided on a design, I just had the invites printed myself from Winkflash.

A couple online options to check might be Shutterfly, Vista Print, and MyPublisher too.

  • I did mine in photoshop as well and then printed them at Vista Print. If you want me to help, just let me know.

I know that some people also use Scrablog.

  • Here is the invitation we made through winkflash.  It was exactly what I wanted.  We didn't really have a theme, just balloons and I found this invite on the website.  They were very cheap and didn't look cheap at all.  I think I ordered 50 invitations for around $20!

  • I made ours using photoshop elements and then had them printed at Kinko's (I use costco now though - 50 for 14.99).  It was a pretty easy design to do!image

  • If end up designing them yourself, overnightprints.com has 10% any order now. I like their quality of paper - their postcards are very nice.
