Well, I had my 36 week appointment yesterday afternoon.
For starters, my BP was thru the roof. Even after "resting" for 20 minutes it was still crazy high.
On top of that, I apparently gained 10lbs. in 2 weeks. Um...HOW? Oranges can't have that many calories! Water retention anyone?
So, she comes in and starts talking to me about how I probably have pre-e. Does an internal (I'm NOT in the 'can't feel a thing group' FYI) and says I'm closed tight up and I should be having sex every day to get things going so we can deliver at 38 weeks.
Awesome.
Then she pulls out the u/s machine to make sure he is head down.
Guess what?
He's breech.
Great.
Now she says, well, if your BP and proteins aren't down (oh and by the way, you're done with work) then I would plan on having a c/s on Monday.
::blank stare::
So, I was hooked up to the fetal monitor for 30 minutes, gave blood and have to do a 24 hour urine catch today. Thursday I go back in to be checked and best case scenario, I have this little guy on Monday. Worst case, he comes Thursday/Friday.
FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW LADIES. I'm much calmer now than I was last night, but....wow. It's a lot to process for sure.
And to think, all I wanted was reduced hours.
Re: 36 Week appointment - big news
Oh my! That IS a lot to take in at one appointment! Take it easy and be gentle with yourself (except for the mandatory sex time, LOL!)
Good luck, I hope your BP goes way down.
wow
::deep breath::
Take a deep breath. It will be ok.
Perhaps channel the freaking out bit to something positive like how excited you will be to have your baby. And maybe the having sex everyday bit as well. Unless of course, that's not something you are looking forward to.
But really, you will be ok - these guys know what's going on in your belly, they know what they and you need to do...would be more nerve wracking if they found all this out the day of.
Sending positive thoughts towards you....
Yeah, the sex every day thing went out the window once she saw he was breech. She doesn't think with my fluid levels so low that he is going to turn. So I may have dodged that bullet!
Thanks for the positive thoughts!

eeeeeee
wow jess, you could be holding you baby in a week!
is the stuff at the house mostly ready? all the baby needs is a place to sleep, something to eat, and diapers (a bit of clothes or blankets to keep him warm if you live somewhere chilly)
thats so exciting! dont you like the feeling of having a definite end to it?
Thankfully froot, my OCD has the nursery done (other than the letters up over his crib). We're in really good shape overall. Car seats are going in today, I'm going to get some laundry (ok DH is going to get some laundry) done today and my bag is already 75% packed, so I feel pretty good about that.
I do like having the "definite end" feeling...but WOW, I could be a parent next week. I know it's only 3 weeks early, but I was totally banking on those three weeks!

you get to meet your little one soon - how exciting!
good luck!
Oh no! Well thats not great news at all. BUT maybe you were just nervous? I have a better case scenario for you. You were nervous about your first internal so thats why the BP was up! And the little guy was running away from the ute because he knew you were nervous.
Lets hope by thursday he gets his act together! Just stay positive.
OMG. Jess! I'm so sorry you're having such a hard pregnancy, but I am SO EXCITED to meet the little guy via email!
Don't freak. It's going to be great. You're going to be an amazing mom.

OMG!!!!!
I am excited for you! I am sorry about the sucky circumstances around it, but he'll be here on MONDAY!!
I know you're feeling overwhelmed by it all, but it is great that you'll be a mommy in a week's time!
Hang in there. I hope the bp goes down!
OMG!!!
I am so excited you get to meet your baby soon! I'm sorry about the BP issues and him being breech but at least you won't have to be pregnant forever. That sounds VERY appealing at this point to me.
Keep us posted! Maybe congrats aren't what I'm supposed to say right now but congrats anyway!!! You get to have your baby soon! YAY!
Wow, girl! I hope your BP comes down soon and everything works out for the best.
I did hope for your water breaking in front of the partners though. lolz. but I guess this surprises them just as much.
Take it easy girlie! Shamrock will come soon enough.
Thanks so much ladies, you are all awesome.
Yes, it's a lot to take in and I admittedly just spent the past 2 hours reading about c/s and pre-e. It's a lot to take in...but, what can you do?
idavis - if things don't improve by my appt. on Thurs then they are taking him ASAP. She really thinks either way I'm going on Monday via c/s.
DH is comandeering the computer now, but I'll check in again soon! Thank you all again for your thoughts!!
