Need help! Boob leaked!

Ok so this is my first child, and I never experienced any of this before, but last night my boob leaked for the first time! Luckily I was home and in bed when it happened but I am so nervous about it happening again.

For those of you who have been through this, What did you use to help protect your shirts?

And how often did it happen for you? Daily?

  • Haven't had that happen...yet. I'm not sure what to do.

  • I haven't leaked YET...but I plan to use Lansinoh breast pads, because of the rave reviews I've read about them.

  • get disposible breast pads and put them in your bra.  I just bought some last week and put them in the closet, just in case!
  • Purchase nursing pads.  You can get disposable ones or cloth ones.  The gerber cloth ones worked fine while I was pregnant, but were useless when my milk was coming in.

  • WOW !! This happend to me with my first kid but not until I was 35 weeks!!! It is your clostrum ::Spelling?:: your premilk that comes in.  It shouldnt leak out all over to the place though. Poor you, when this happend to me, I cried "OMG" !!
  • mine started to leak with dd at 17 or so weeks, but only when i didn't have a bra on. so i never really had an issue in public. otw wear nursing pads.
  • It hasn't happened to me yet.  Let us know what works best.

It was a decent amount, Enough to make a silver dollar sized mark on my shirt, but it was premilk!  I am just nervous of it happening at work. I work with all guys and I would be mortified if I didnt notice and it happened again.

I just didn't know how often I should be on the look out for this.. I am wearing a big old sweatshirt today until I can get to the store for some pads!

  • Ditto the Lansinoh disposable breast pads. There's really no way to tell when it will happen, but as you go further along, it's probably going to happen more often.

  • I have also heard when you are in a bind and don't have any breast pads, that you can take a thin pantyliner and cut it in half and stick it to the inside of your bra...hth!

Yes! It's creepy because you know it's going to happen : )

  • When I was pregnant with DS, this happened all the time. ?I would suggest Gerber breast pads while you're still pregnant because they're very thin and don't add extra bulk to your breasts but they definitely offer enough coverage. ?After you give birth you'll have a lot more leakage and you'll need something stronger like the Lansinoh pads. ?
