Anyone use a seat protector under your carseat?

We have leather seats in our new car and DH wants me to find out if there are seat protectors that you are supposed to put under carseats to protect the leather.  I googled and found that these definitely do exist, so I'm wondering if anyone on here uses one and has recommendations or tips on what to get.  Thanks!

  • we dont' yet, but DEF will soon.  right now, he doesn't eat or anything in the car.

  • I have them. They work better than nothing, but I do still have indentations in my seats. I got the ones from BRU.
  • I want to get one.  I just know there is going to be some nasty junk up under that seat once he starts snacking in the car!  Also, I've seen some that have little pockets for organizing and I'm all about that!

  • It depends on what you're trying to protect it from....if its indentations there's nothing you can do.   And quite honestly the little bit of stuff that has accumulated was easy to wipe off with a damp rag.  I dont really think there's a lot of value to them personally.   Now, if they come out with one that will prevent the indents....awesome!

  • We have them with our Britax, but did not use them with our infant seat.  The fire department told us that we would have a tighter fit if we did not use the seat protector.  It was fine-we had no indentations in the seat when we removed the base and switched to the convertible carseat.
  • Thanks everyone!  That's good to know.

  • We use them cause my DH is OCD about the cars, but I'm not really sure they do much good.  There are still some indents.   We got ours at BabiesRUs as well.
  • we bought one for each car, but the car seat tech couldn't get a good fit with it in  my car.  My Dh uses one in his truck though.  We may try it again in my car once we turn the seat around...if it fits good.  I'd rather have a tight fitting car seat and indentions/stains than a loose car seat.

And yes, I have fairly decent indentions in my fancy leather seats :(
