Sippy Cup for BF Baby (who doesn't take a bottle)

I have decided to stop trying to get Lily to take a bottle and offer a sippy cup. ?Right now we have some dinky Tupperware ones that leak all over the place. ?Also the spout is pretty hard.

Can anyone suggest one that has a soft spout and doesn't leak? ?I am hoping that DH will be able to give her BM in the cup while I am out.

TIA!?

  • My 6-mo old BF nephew does well with a Nuby cup; my sis texted me a pic of it yesterday. Soft spout, looks kind of see-through and contoured.

  • Hi there -

We give our daughter the Nuby with a straw.  I read somewhere that itis easier for Breastfed babies to drink from a straw.  It took a few days but seems to work really well.  I got them at target.

  • DS did great with his Nuby.  It has an actual nipple instead of a spout...

  • We have some Nuby ones, but to be honest, she does best with the Take and Toss cups. Since DD doesn't take a bottle, giving her a sippy cup with a spout like a bottle nipple didn't really work. The ones that aren't leak-proof are better for her.

  • We use the Graduates cups-they have a soft, rubbery spout. ?It took DS awhile to figure out how to suck to get the water out and that he had to tilt the cup up to get the water to the spout. ?Now he gets so excited when he sees me filling the cup. ?Who knew water was so exciting?

I agree with this. My DD does great with these...

  • we were in the same situation at that age....i use the gerber sip and smile ones in the beginning.
  • DS refuses to take a bottle also. We started with the Nuby soft spout and didn't have a lot of luck, then I moved to the Nuby ones with the straw (he LOVES to drink out of my straw and would get all excited when I let him so I gave it a try!). He does really well with those.

Although, this past week I was babysitting and she had the gerber sippy cup that changes colors and he went NUTS for it, so tonight I went and grabbed a couple of those. Basically what I'm trying to say is I have no idea and my child plays me like a violin : )

  • Born Free ones have worked best for us.. not to mention but I tried 8 different types of bottles and sippies until DD finally found one she liked (bottles: Playtex Dropins, Medela, Dr. Borwns, Advent, MAM sippy cups: Playtex, Nuby sof spout, nuby straw and Born Free)
  • i have been wondering the same thing my DD won't take a bottle either :(
