Can you use too much Abreva?

I have a nasty cold sore and it sucks. I've never really used Abreva and I don't get cold sores too often. The package says 5 times a day, but I find myself wanting to put it on like every hour or so. Can it be used too much?

    doubt it.  I get the worst cold sores.  Abreva heals them much faster than anything I've ever used (including prescription Zovirax).

    I would try to stick to the package directions so you don't mess with it too much. . . the more I mess with it, the longer it takes to heal.

    ditto hikerbeth, you will surprised at how fast Abreva clears a coldsore up. It's the best. I don't think you can use too much?
