First Birthday idea, your opinion

I really don't see the point in having a huge bash because we don't have the room in our house and if we have it out I don't see how it would be "fun" for a one-year old.

I am thinking of just having the immediate family here and a few friends. It would be a total of 14 people including 4 toddlers aside from DS. I feel like this is enough but also feel a little bad because friends had such bashes for 1st birthday parties. What do you think?

  • I think it sounds good. You shouldn't feel bad you can save the bash for when your child has a say in what they want.

  • sounds great, we are doing the same thing. Just close family, friends and their little ones. Honestly, DS isnt real big on crowds and a lot of commotion, so Im worried that even this small party will be too much for him. We'll see this weekend! Good luck :-)
  • I think that's totally fine.  Do whatever you is best for your family and DC.

  • That's about 10 more people than we'll be having.  I think it's fine.
  • That's what we are doing.  I think our invite list is 20, but will probably only have 15 or so.  We are doing it in our home with just cake, punch, and a couple snacks for the kids.

  • We're not doing a 'big bash' either.  We're just having immediate family and a few close friends (25 people) come to our house.  I really don't see the point in spending hundreds of dollars for a party he won't even remember...but that's me.  We'll spend the money on fun venues when he's older.
