I read here yesterday that the Jeep Liberty is compatable with Graco Snugride infant seat, which is one of the seats we were looking at, and would get a Jeep anyways (I don't know if the Liberty model was one that we liked) so...
Do we go with a Graco travel system (metrolite- recomended by Baby Bargins and really really light) or Jeep, and Graco Snugride seat, which is a little more bulky and heavy and just get some sort of cheaper version of umb. stroller later if we don't want to haul the Jeep around everwhere.....
??????????? so, so, confused!
Re: Travel system vs. Jeep.... help!
I'm the one who mentioned the Jeep's compatibility with the Graco seats, so I better chime in here.
We live in the country and will be using our stroller in grass, on gravel -- basically, very off-road. The MetroLite stroller, while light and nice and whatever, wouldn't work well for us. So, we're going the SnugRide/Jeep option. We can use the Jeep stroller up to 40 pounds I believe ... after that, our child can walk on his/her own. Or, we'll get a wagon for when we go somewhere.
Like PP said, you have to look at your lifestyle. Does the MetroLite make sense for you? Will you use it? If it doesn't make sense, don't get it.
P.S. Or register for both the Jeep and travel system and hope someone gets them for you. That way you'll have both strollers as options!!
I've heard bad things about the strollers that come with the travel systems. Everyone I've talked to says it's better to just get the carseat you want, then buy a snap and go to turn it into a stroller, then just buy whatever stroller you want for when baby is older.
Since the stroller you want for when baby is older already fits your baby carseat, I think you're all set. I would go for that, and just forget that you could have gotten a stroller that "matched" your carseat.
