What do you do with baby while showering, etc.?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but what do you do with baby while you shower, get ready, go to restroom, etc? Put them in a crib, bouncer, playyard, etc? Do you wait till they are sleeping to shower or just put them down when you need to?

  • I usually shower during her morning nap.  I just put her down in her pnp for bathroom breaks.

  • I bring baby with me in the bathroom and put her in the bouncer while I'm in the shower.
  • While showering, I place her in the infant carrier.  She seems content each morning, and LOVES the hairdryer when I'm getting ready!
  • If my dh can't watch her then I put her in her bouncy seat. She keeps herself pretty entertained and likes to watch me get ready.
  • For a shower I either wait until he is sleeping or do it right after he eats when he is nice and content. Anything else I just put him in his swing or bouncer.
  • Boppy bouncer...it was and still is the only thing that will keep Heidi happy long enough for me to enjoy my always long-awaited daily showers!

  • Once she nods off during her mid morning nap while in her swing, I take my famous 4 min shower :)
  • Not a stupid question at all. This was actually a difficult thing for me when I found myself home alone after DH went back to work. I usually showered before he left if I could, but if not, I have found that I can usually do it when DD sleeps for her morning nap buckled in her swing. As soon as I know she is out I run and jump in and be real quick. I leave the door open and the swing is in the next room. The reason this is the best is because even if she wakes up, she usually hangs out for a few mins before getting fussy when she is in her swing.

  • This was hard for me in the beginning when I was the only one home with her!  She always wanted to be held!  Now, I usually put her in her bouncy and bring it in the bathroom with me.  A lot of times she falls asleep in there and I get to take a longer shower.  Sometimes I get to shower while she naps in her PnP and I leave the shower door open.  The bouncy seems to work out better for us.

  • I either get up early while DH is still here and do it then, but most of the time I do it when she is sleeping.  One time DH was not home and she was not asleep and I had to get in the shower, so I put her in her bouncy seat in the doorway of the bathroom.
  • If I'm home alone when I shower, I put him in the bouncer in the bathroom.  I usually wait until he's snoozing just so I don't have to worry as much that he will start fussing when I can't get to him right away.  If I have to pee, I put him in the co-sleeper and just go when I need to go!
  • Druing the week, I shower at night after he goes to bed.  On the weekend, its whenever I can get a spare 5 minutes.
  • We keep a Moses basket on the bathroom floor for things like this
  • I usually shower while he's napping, but sometimes I do it while he is in his crib or lying on my bed.  If he's awake when I'm doing makeup, I lay him on my lap and sit in front of a full length mirror.  Ds is pretty independent lately, especially in the morning, so I can put him on his activity mat or bouncer when I need to do something for a few minutes.  I used to wear him a lot in my carrier when I needed to get stuff done, too.
  • I shower when my baby is sleeping. ?She is only 3 weeks old and still sleeps a lot, so it's easy. ?I put the monitor in the bathroom, and if she starts crying, I just hurry up. ?
