In the past several years she brings up in conversation people that have died that she thinks we'd like to know about. For instance, when my parents picked us up at the airport after our honeymoon, she said, "Guess what happened!" in an excited way, then proceeded to tell us that a dear friend of ours had died in his sleep while we were on our honeymoon.
So she usually sends me emails to let me know who's died, and I can usually handle it. But this time I'm bawling uncontrollably because one of my favourite highschool teachers died.
She is a geriatric nurse, so death is something she's faced with on a daily basis, but geez, can she have less tact?!
