mady's weaning...jen come in...all others too :)

ok jen...how did riley do??

this was us...

FRIDAY - wide awake and crying by 3:30am....cried for about 30 minutes (with me not alone)....gave her 4 oz (instead of her usual 6oz) after her non stop crying while rocking her to bed. after her 4 oz she hugged me with BOTH arms...no lie, like if saying "thank you mommy i needed that"...that broke my heart, went straight to bed after

SATURDAY - wide awake and crying by 3am....repeated friday's routine and again with 4 oz instead of 6 oz

SUNDAY - i heard her crying at 4am....i waited 8 minutes (which is the equivalent of 1 hr in mommyhood)....i didnt want to do CIO i just wanted her to calm down a bit before i walked into her room, i didnt want to go grab her when she was non stop wailing. i picked her up after 8 minutes....rocked her to bed....NO BOTTLE....she fell back asleep after 30-40 minutes...

so i accomplished the no bottle yesterday (i guess by giving her less on friday and saturday)...we'll see how it goes tonight.

  • CIO IS SO HARD!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you guys did pretty good though!

    Here's how our weekend went:

Friday Night-Up at 3am, let her cry for 15 minutes. I couldn't take it anymore so I brought her into bed with me, gave her 4 oz instead of the normal 6 oz and brought her back into her crib and she fell asleep until 7ish.

Saturday Night-Up at 2am, let her cry for 20 minutes and she finally fell back asleep-no bottle! YAY!!!! Up around 6:30am for the morning.

Sunday Night-Up at 3am, let her cry for 11 minutes and she went back to sleep-no bottle!!! YAY!!!! Up around 6am for the morning.

I feel like we're definitely making progress! It is super hard though to hear her cry and to know I'm not going in there to make her happy. But, I know in the end it will be worth it and she will be STTN soon!!

  • Well, Friday night she seemed a little hysterical and that's why I went in to make sure she was ok. If she was crying really hard I would have gone in but she just sounded a bit pissed and whiney so I thought I would go ahead and let her CIO. I hate it though!!! =(
