Baptism name ?

When I took the baptism class at my church the teacher never mentioned giving DD a name. My mom thinks we need to give her a baptismal name but can we just use her "real" name?

    If it's a Catholic baptism, you use their given name.  For Confirmation, your DD would pick a Saint's name.

    Yes it's Catholic. I thought that was the case but then I got nervous that we hadn't picked another name! THANKS!

    I think it also depends on what you name your child.  If they have an unusual name then you may need to give them a saint's name to be baptized.  It has been a while, but they would not baptize my sister Courtney she had to be baptized Eileen.
