So how much really are we supposed to be drinking in the first trimester? I'm already peeing a bunch. If I drink any more water I might as well live in the bathroom!

FWIW, I've found it helpful to have a water bottle by me at all times so I can just keep sipping away as the mood takes me. If at the end of the day I notice that I've only been through one or two bottles I make an effort to drink more the next day...
You'll be needing an IV, for sure. Just push fluids all day long. If the peeing is a problem, ask for a catheter and foley bag next time you go the doctor- because pregnancy is the most comfortable condition known to woman-kind. Miracles come easy, don't you know?
Minimum 8 - 10 (8 oz) cups of hydrating liquids per day. (That's basically 1 ml/calorie for a 2000-2200 calorie diet.) More if your needs are higher. That includes anything non-caffeineated and non-carbonated. If your exercising or having trouble keeping things down...you need more. For every 1 lb. lost in sweat, replace with 2 cups of liquids.
-OR- just drink enough for your urine to be pale in color/almost clear.

At least 64 oz/day. But I haven't done that and my baby is just fine. Just drink as much as you can.
