Lately I've been working with DD to wave "hi" and "bye" when people come in and when they leave (or we leave). And she's slowly getting it. Well, just now I went in to lay her down for a nap - and she looked up at me and waved bye bye...with her little backwards wave. It was so cute - brought a little tear to my eye. I just wanted to share our little precious moment..... I love those!!
Maybe you all can share your little precious moments with your little ones.
Happy Friday!
Re: Just had a precious moment...
that is too sweet! brought a tear to my eye too.
Lately, when I'm nursing DD, she wants to kinda play. She'll try to see my entire face. If I lean back while nursing her, she can only see half of my face, so she cranes her neck back (usually stretching my nipple- youch) to get a good look at my whole face. When I look back at her, she smiles the biggest smile and out pops the nipple and usually some milk. Then she just latches on to do it again. It's cute now - and I try not to encourage it - but when I see her doing it with eyes that are already smiling, just waiting to see me smile - I can't help but at least smile, and sometimes laugh out loud.
Every time I pick up DD she hugs me and pats my back with her little hand. I love it!
Aaawww. I love those first waves of those little hands!
Mine isn't as precious but I've been trying to teach DD to use a spoon. I put food on the spoon and start going towards her wide-open mouth but instead of putting it right in her mouth, I grab her hand and put the spoon in it. At first she protests like, "Why aren't you putting the food in my mouth?" but when she realizes that I am letting her do it herself, she smiles and puts the spoon in her own mouth. She looks SO proud of herself and like she's thinking, "Oh, okay Mama. I get why you didn't put the spoon right in my mouth."
awww- I understand how you feel!?
Jake says 'bye' to everything nowadays. ?When he goes to bed, he says 'bye daddy', 'bye Macie, bye Mollie' (dogs), 'bye bubbie' (matthew), 'bye chet' (blanket), etc... it is so cute! ??

Aw, that's so sweet! The weekend after New Years was the first time DS reached up for me to pick him up - he was fussing and just reached his arms up with his fussy face looking so pathetic! Tonight DH was holding him after coming home from daycare, and as soon as he saw me, he grinned and leaned toward me with both arms out - oh soooo sweet. It just fills my heart with love and joy.
DS also pats our shoulder as soon as we pick him up - so cute!
