Does anyone know, can the formula used in the swiffer wet jet be harmful to babies and pets?
I got an email this morning and just wanted to get some other opinions. If that is the case, the new swiffer I just bought to clean my house, is going back!
No. If it were harmful to children or pets it wouldn't be on your local shopping store's shelves and there would be a warning on the bottle, which there is not. I love my swiffer.
The swiffer I know is good with pets. I haven't checked about babies yet...but I fig. if it's good for my dogs (who are my kids) it should be fine for baby too.

Snopes determied the email chain that went around (the one about the dog that ingested it and it caused liver failure) was false. However, I did stop using mine because on the warning label it does say something about keep away from kids/pets and toxic if ingested. I didn't want to take the chance of it getting on my dogs feet and them licking it off (they have long hair, and everything sticks to it)

I know this is going to come across as snarky and I DO NOT mean it that way, but there is a warning on there about kids and pets, just an FYI. There is also a picture.

I just found out the same thing ussing GOOGLE!!!
Google, know it, use it, love it. You can answer your own questions that way!
I use my knees and hands to wash all my hardwood flooring for the whole house. ?laughs- I use to use the swifter but we have so much to cover it wasn?t getting it thoroughly enough as the old fashion way does.
Ok, maybe I should re-state. IMO the Swiffer Wet Jet does not work for ME. Our entire house is laminate so we just use the laminate (sp?) spray and then the terrycloth covers over the plastic broomy-thing. (great explanation right?!) It dries faster, and I feel the cloth gets into groves and cracks better than the flat plastic piece.
Granted, there is nothing that directly says that Swiffer is harmful to pets/babies, I have decided it is not a chance I want to take in MY house.
About the baby gate issue, no this doesn't work for us. My dogs can jump a gate, and would in a heartbeat if we penned them up in one room and we were in another. They are clingy like that.
