SIL's dog is driving me crazy

SIL came for Thanksgiving and brought her dog with her.  That's fine, he's a dachshund, we have a shih tzu, they're getting along fine.  But DH went to work this afternoon and SIL went out shopping, I'm home with the kids (who are BOTH napping, amazingly enough), and this stupid dog has done nothing but whine/bark/howl since she left 2 hours ago.  Good grief dog, I understand that you miss SIL, but honestly, SHUT UP.  I tried putting him in his crate to see if it would help, but no.  Made it worse.  So now he's just wandering around making pathetic, horribly annoying noises.

    my MILdoes that with her pomeranian...she never asked if its ok to bring the dog and she will leave and expect me to babysit her dog.  Her dog does the same thing as your sil's dog.

    It only took 2.5 yrs for MIL to finally understand we do NOT want you to bring the dog.

    minna is a dachshund and she is the neediest thing going! I love her to bits but she can be a real PITA.?
