Anyone have experience with reflux issues without vomiting? DD cries during feedings and pulls away from the bottle after about every 4 sucks... it takes forever to feed her and we're both miserable. Any help?
We had that with Abby. It's called Silent Reflux. She went on Prevacid and it seemed to make a difference. We also found out that she has a milk protien sensitivity and had to go to a Hypoalergenic formula. That has made the biggest difference.
ditto what raesue said. Both of my boys were "silent refluxers". Neither really spit up but were in lots of pain during and after feedings. We started them both on Axid (similar to Zantac--the pedi had samples) and it worked for one so he was put on an Rx for Zantac, it didn't help my other son at all so he was switched to protonics which is a compounded medication similar to prevacid. Before the meds I thought I had the two most angry babies in the world, afterwards, they are VERY happy babies (thank goodness).
My boys also have/had a milk protein intolerance. I am BFing so I have been on an elimination diet since they were about 6 weeks old
Oh well, it is worth it for happy babies. Good luck
That sounds just like my little girl, she was just diagnosed while we were at the hospital for RSV. She is now on medicine and feedings are much less stressful for everyone.
