Friendships...

Did you lose friendships while you were pregnant?   I swear, you would think that I have a third eye the way my friends treat me now! Um...Hello! Still Same ol' me!

I have friendships that I know will go away by the time the baby is born.  Not close friends or anything, but a good majority of our social life revolved around the pool bar and I don't plan on leaving the baby with a sitter so we can go to the bar or bringing her with us.

I haven't heard from one of my supposed best friends since July when I told him the DH and I were expecting.  I was/am a little sad about it, but I guess it made me realize he's not a very good friend.

Same with our friends. Well the females. All the husbands hate the bar, but the wives, they all go to the bar... Between last week this time and now, they've probably been 5 or 6 times.   I'm not asking them to change their lives for me, but I just don't understand why they can't do anything else or even bother to include me. Once in a while, I don't mind being their DD, especially since our DH's had been deployed for a couple of months.

I believe this is happening to me.  I have a friend that has not been in touch with me since I told her we were having a girl.   She went out last night and contacted all our other friends but me!!!  It kinda makes me sad but it makes me look at our friendship and realize that she might not be as great of a friend as I thought she was.

Yup, my best friend actually. We had been having problems for awhile because of her growing alcohol problem and finally the last straw was her trying to get me fired for being pregnant to cover up for a huge mistake she made while drunk. Frankly, I am better off without someone like her in my life. My pregnancy has strengthened a few other friendships and I would rather focus and surround myself with the good in life.
